As I was driving up Studewood the Monday after the storm I saw that Glass Wall would be open that night.
I hurried home, told my husband to clean up -fast- as I wanted to hurry there before it got crowded (the Heights was still totally in the dark and anything open had lines out the wazoo!)

We were welcomed by a cheerful and casually dressed Shepard (uncharacteristic, to be sure). The waitress hurried to our table with a welcome suggestion of "martinis - asap." As we shared Ike experiences with Lance, Shepard found an outlet to recharge our phone!

The modified menu still shined, considering Lance had to make do with whatever he could find at short notice as most stores had no power. Their effort made us feel normal for the evening. On the way out we bumped into Shepard's fiancee, Gretchen, who asked if we needed ice and dashed back with two bags to go ... Talk about feeling like family! That memory will stay with us forever.
