John Moore Reopens Pan y Agua ... With a Twist
From 4/25/09 ..... Today John Moore brought back his beloved concept, Pan y Agua, with very little risk.
It's a ten table restaurant within a restaurant.
Confused? I was too until I spoke with John today about it.
You may remember that the newish Pan y Agua restaurant closed after a short stint.
John said that it was not profitable and it was hard to get people to try his new restaurant
in this economic climate. So he had to close it.
But his other concept down the street, Palazzo's, is popular and successful.
So starting today the building at 2300 Westheimer will house both restaurants.
"This will enable us to reopen Pan y Agua with virtually no overhead," John told me.
There is a distinct difference between the two restaurants and they occupy
different sections of the building. Palazzo's is a family-style restaurant serving
Italian-American food and Pan y Agua serves a mix of Tex-Mex (RU happy Frank Bruni?),
interior Mexican food and Gulf coast seafood.
