Another Steak House Slated for Houston's Galleria Area - Frank's Chop House
Frank Crapitto, of Crapitto’s Cucina Italiana and Frank Butera, who has worked in a Michelin-starred
restaurant in San Francisco, have announced their collaboration in the creation of Frank’s Chop House.

Butera will be the chef and will use locally sourced produce, beef and gulf coast seafood.
The cuisine will be "New American" and will change with the seasons.
The food will be the star and the Franks think that’s the way dining should be.
Don’t look for trendy décor. Be prepared for a menu that merges the many different
food influences found in this region.
"Soulful cooking" is how Frank Butera describes it.
"A chef should put his soul into what he serves," he said.
Butera mastered his craft after many years in the kitchen with Michael Tusk of Quince in
San Francisco. In 2007 Quince received a star from the famed Michelin Guide. Butera is also part
of the Houston family that owned the well-known Butera’s Grocery.
About his time at Quince, he says, "I didn't even own a paring knife, but Mike gave me a chance.
He took me to the farmer’s markets and taught me the importance of fresh ingredients. I am looking
forward to working with local growers in our area to give Houstonians a taste of fresh food,
artfully prepared and presented."
Butera has also worked with Carrabba's, Da Marco and Catalan in Houston.
Frank’s Chop House is scheduled to open in mid-July at 3736 Westheimer, Houston.
In the past this location has housed several restaurants including The Stables, Rockfish and Joyce's Ocean Grill, which closed in May, making way for Frank's Chop House.

We were all surprised to see that Joyce's Ocean Grill did not make it ... It was a perfect neighborhood stop for great martinis and fresh seafood. What happened????
We are looking forward to seeing what the two Franks have planned. Will they have a bar and a party room?
Now that the Stables and The State Grille have dissolved into the ozone, the bar regulars are wandering the hood like Lost Souls. Will Frank's Chop House be their salvation?
Cheers dear!

Cleverley,
Thanks for sharing news about Frank's with your readers. We know they love good food and we are excited about our new concept. One small note - it's not a traditional steak house. Much lighter fare. No dark wood. The restaurant will be bright and airy and portions appealing to both women and men.
Can't wait for you and everyone else to try out our seasonal fare.
Best,
Frank

It seems to be mostly hype because the food is average at best and the deserts are horrible.
