Chef Randy Rucker - No Longer Cooking for Cordua

As of March 3rd, Chef Randy Rucker is no longer with the Cordua restaurant organization in Houston.
In 2007 he was hired as research and development chef for the Cordua restaurants (Americas, Amazon Grill, Churrascos and Artista). Very recently he added the title of executive chef for Artista, the beautiful venue atop the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Houston, to his daily regime.
His past accomplishments include creating the misunderstood and short-lived downtown restaurant, Laidback Manor, which I thought offered visionary and creative cuisine. During his career Rucker has also worked under chefs Tim Keating and Robert Gadsby.
No telling what is next for this young chef, although he tells me he has developed a new affinity for pastry and desserts. Anyone up for some creamed pecan honey foam? If Rucker hasn't created it yet, I'm sure he will!

View Michael Cordua and son David Cordua with me on Fox26 Morning News on February 8th, talking about the new Americas restaurant to open in The Woodlands on April 15th (soft opening). Hard opening is scheduled for May 6th.

I am guessing that the dinner Rucker was planning for March 17th is now cancelled? It's really too bad.

Any idea what happened? Seemed like Artista could use some new blood.

Any idea why Chef Rucker had such a short-lived stay at Cordua?
